This qualification covers the subject of IT Assets & Infrastructure, which comprises the acquisition and management of the following types of IT Asset: Applications, Data and Infrastructure.
It is concerned with the People Competencies involved in managing these assets and services based on these assets. These are described in more detail in the IT Infrastructure Library and other widely available best practice guidance.
The qualification also covers IT Asset & Infrastructure principles in general, and the interdependencies between the component parts of each of these asset types.
Candidates who take the exam should be able to demonstrate knowledge and comprehension of the IT Assets & Infrastructure syllabus.
Training for this examination may be offered in a variety of formats. Most commonly it is available as a 18 hour course run over a minimum period of three days to include lectures, workshops, and other teaching formats.
The examination will last one hour and will consist of forty multiple-choice questions. It will be a 'closed book' examination, i.e. no notes or books will be allowed in to the examination room.
The pass mark is 26/40.
Candidates should have a basic knowledge of IT theory and practice.
It is recommended that all candidates attend an approved training course run by an accredited Training Provider.
