BCS-ISEB Foundation Certificate in Green IT

This certificate is suitable for those who require a broad understanding of the subject matter and need an appreciation of what Green IT can do for them and their organization. This could be the across the whole organization right the way up to senior management. The certificate is also suitable for those who subsequently pursue specialized topic areas in more detail.

The qualification will provide candidates with a broad understanding of the regulations, legislation and policies, carbon energy accounting and how to create a green IT strategy. This knowledge will clearly be of benefit to any organization in the current competitive and cost conscious environment.

Structure of the exam

• Training for this examination is offered in a variety of formats. Most commonly it's available as an 18 hour course run over a minimum period of three days to include lectures, workshops, and other teaching formats.
• The examination lasts one hour and consists of 40 multiple-choice questions. It's a 'closed book' examination i.e. no notes or books are allowed into the examination.
• The pass mark is 26/40.

Entry Requirements

• The candidate should be involved in or have an interest in Green IT.
• It is recommended that you attend an ISEB approved training course run by an accredited training provider.
• The overall public exam pass rates are notably higher for candidates who have attended an accredited training course.
